Default Beating the Rake

My local casino has a loose aggressive 5/10 limit game, 5% rake up to $3 max. Someone told me that this is a game to avoid as it's nearly impossible to beat the rake and tokes etc. Same person also told me that a guy needs to play 10/20 to show a profit. Is he right? Is that 5/10 game a waste of time?

$3 max? my God, a decent player should crush that game if it resembles any 5-10 live game I've seen. Most places take at least 4 bucks out per hand.

Listening to the person who told you this is a waste of time. I play 4/8 in many of the socal casinos with $4-$5 rake and average over 1bb/hour. If I played better there's room to make more.

where is this casino, that rake is the best i've ever heard of for that limit. Also if your friend can't beat a 5/10 game its not because of the rake it is because of his game.

you think $3 is bad, try Amsterdam where the 10/20 is 5% and maxes out when the dealer gets tired of doing math.

at my casino 2/4 takes $4 max rake a pot, or 10%, plus 1$ for BBJ, plus 1$ tipping

that means if you win a 40$ pot, you are really winning a 34$ pot, and pots rarely get over 40$ at 2/4
