Re: Advertising/Spamming experiment.
[ QUOTE ]
I posted a variation of the following post to each of the top 25 poker site forums listed in "PokerSiteScout" Top Poker Information Sites . ****** Saturday October 13th marks the Anniversary of the passage of the UIGEA. I am a new poster here, but active in other forums. Either here or on the other forums I would appreciate suggestions as well as any volunteers. There have been some positive recent changes in the PPA, IMO. I would suggest those with past problems with the PPA give it a look. PPA's homepage: http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org/ While there forum is something of a backwater, perhaps we can spark a little activity, here a link to my post http://webringamerica.com/4/pokerpla...pic.php?t=1677 D$D ****** The results were interesting. PPA Forum views 18 PokerNews doesn't post views CardPlayer 27 PokerStrategy I couldn't join WSOP couldn't find a forum PokerAffiliateWorld 19 PokerPages 3 FT Fourm 33 TheHendonMob 28 PocketFives doesn't show views sharkscop couldn't find a forum CardsChat 67 and I was 4~5 hours late missed it the first go round. 16 replies; mostly about the PPA pin Bluff Mag 5 PokerWorks not received reg confirm yet.... NeverWin 49 1 reply; was called a "pussy" for some reason... PokerTips wouldn't let me register Poker.com more reg problems BonusWhores said that the PPA didn't have an offical forum and I couldn't spam my own forum..... The first round I only followed those site that had a link on the list. D$D [/ QUOTE ] D$D - pm'd you. Feel free to post this info in our poker strategy forum (not the same one listed in sitescout!). You'll get views and suggestions and I'd be happy to donate to the cause as well. If the link in this post is not allowed/gets deleted, that's fine. Just google "poker strategy org" and you'll find us easy enough. I generally try to keep our members updated on poker legislation, but a fresh, knowledgeable voice would probably help stir up action. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Here is a US designer that uses Chipco, a US company. http://www.homepokerchips.com/order.htm [/ QUOTE ] Homepoker is six to eight weeks....... D$D [/ QUOTE ] Don't give me your negative feedback. If they can't do it, then obv someone else will step up. I want results, not excuses. edit: The first 1,000 can be done in 2 weeks from artwork approval. Arwork can be done in days. Contact Gene at http://www.abcgiftsandawards.com/pokerchips.htm or Joe Daley at Palm Imports: http://www.palmimports.com/ Designs will be posted soon. Joey is stepping up. Thanks, Joey. [/ QUOTE ] As far as design suggestions, my thinking takes me to something we might also be able to use elsewhere like the KY race.... Perhaps the PPA logo on one side and "Poker Players Vote!" on the other? Just an idea. D$D |

I had a D.C. acquaintance that got caught up in the Jack Abramoff -- Bob Ney scandal. Part of that involved poker chips. We may want to give this some more thought before we get to married to the poker chip idea. D$D |

Re: October 13th 2007 UIGEA Anniversary
I can't imagine that printing poker chips with a political message, which have no value, can cause us any trouble. I think you're perhaps being a little over-sensitive. The poker chip is a great way to get our message across. It's perfect.

Re: October 13th 2007 UIGEA Anniversary
Yeah, poker chip seems pretty harmless. Easy to hand out, great symbol of poker.
You could do a custom deck of cards with a similar message like "Poker Players Vote" on the back. Bill Frist as the queen of spades (she's the b!tch, when playing hearts, right?). Chips would be a lot cheaper to mass produce though, no? |

Re: October 13th 2007 UIGEA Anniversary
Post your ideas for a chip design. If you can post images, that would help, too. Here are some of my ideas:
Ceramic textured chips in all cases. 1. Start with a black background. PPA logo on one side encircled by the website address, http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org and "Poker Players Vote!" on the edge spots. On the back, "UIGEA" in flame text curved above 10.13.06 in the middle and "America's Game" on the bottom. 2. Start with a flame background on one side and black on the reverse, with the PPA logo encircled by "Keep it Legal" in thirds. Edgespots with "America's Game" and/or the website http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org . The flame background will have "UIGEA" in black with October 13, 2006 in the middle and "Prohibition Will Fail" under. 3. Start with a US Flag motif on one side and a faded black on the other. Same text as 1. Do you get the gist of what I am trying to convey? Any comments? |
