Default When will the potential player be tracked?

I´m thinking about stepping into the affiliate business and checked the main affiliate sites (e.g. partypartners) and TRIED to understand their T&C etc. I think I´d vote against the percentage plan and take a fixed sum per player instead.

I understand that a cookie will be set on the potential players pc, though I somewhere read that this cookie will be deleted after a few days if the potential player didn´t register right away. Is this the case at all of the affiliate sites?
I also wonder from what exact point in time the potential player will be tracked to me: when he did register as a play money player, or when he did transfer money to the site, or is it not until he played x real-money-hands?

Thanks for answers!

Just wanted to point out that you most probably want to go with the percentage plan anyways, and you probably want to sign-up as a sub-affiliate for some bigger affiliate so you can get better deals and even guidance.
