I turn the nuts against a min raiser
Villain is 24/8 over 7000 hands. I've never played with him before. How often do you take this line against a min raiser? Is a lesser lead or c/r better?

Re: I turn the nuts against a min raiser
They'll expect you to c/r when you hit your flush, so this looks more like a bluff.
I like. Sometimes I'll take this line, sometimes I'll c/r - just depends on my mood at that moment. |

Re: I turn the nuts against a min raiser
I like the play but depending on his aggro factor I might put in a more smallish bet. I have a feeling he set mined this and is gonna call anyway. Minraisors usually don't like to lead without the nuts in my experience

Agreed, 64 is a little too big, I give him more of an illusion that he has FE in this spot.

Do you all realise his range is typically weighted towards big pairs?

Do you all realise his range is typically weighted towards big pairs? [/ QUOTE ] Yep, although probability dictates that he doesnt have a set. I like a lead for 2 reasons. First off, I think it gets all of the money in more often than a cr does, second off, a 4th diamond will kill your action, so the risk of a cr is too much. Villain has !72 iirc starting the hand. He has put 32ish in, so we want to make a bet here that he thinks he has FE with AA/AK while simultaneously making it small enough to get action with. He has put 32 of his 172 in and the pot is 64ish (once again all of these figures may be off a figure or two.) So he has about 140 left. I think a bet of 44-48 works perfectly to get these two things accomplished. |
