Re: KT Tunstall
I don't like her voice, but I think thats mostly because I'm really into music and very critical of it, so I'm thinking about music theory stuff like tone, ability to hold a note etc.
I do like unusual voices though, so she has a few points from that. She could use with a little bit of vocal coaching, which doesn't mean she has to change, but she could definitely be more sexy imo. |

Dom, Howie Day is the first guy I saw do a ton of that stuff. Was pretty amazing the first time I saw it live. Check out this video for an example (I've seen him do much more multilayered stuff than this live): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6OOUH6UmeE [/ QUOTE ] Not my kind of music at all, but I definitely enjoyed it. I was listening to it while I was browsing around the forums and caught myself getting real into it by the end. |

Re: KT Tunstall
If we're talking about looping, Keller Williams is the best.
The guy puts on one of the most unique and amazing shows. Insanely talented. http://youtube.com/watch?v=dMONzLf8VvA http://youtube.com/watch?v=lrPxxAl2Xhk http://youtube.com/watch?v=b7TQRbGBviU http://youtube.com/watch?v=QHDupqwy-nA http://youtube.com/watch?v=UU36MfyC0ac |

One night he did an entire of show of covers including Nirvanna, G Love and Ani DiFranco. I have seen him 2 times earlier as well, and he was impressive then. Definitely worth checking him out regardless of your music preferences. I think he does the whole looping thing better than anyone. |

Re: KT Tunstall
I think Robert Fripp was the guy who made looping popular. But it's a pretty common technique for buskers now.

This thread has made me realize that while I often like their music (esp Cat Power and the song "Metal Heart"), I don't find these artsy/indy chicks too sexy. I like the Indigo Girls, too, fwiw. [/ QUOTE ] this chick is about as artsy/indie as alanis morrisette |

Re: KT Tunstall
I liked "Cherry Tree" since I first heard it. These videos rock. She's obviously very talented. I like that the live version sounds as good as the studio. A lot of people you see live and it's like "Oh, okay. They aren't that good.". Not this chick.
Out of context, she obviously isn't "hot" but she's kind of cute, and adding in the rock stuff makes her sexy. |

Re: KT Tunstall
z,
Neko Case is at a whole different level than KT Tunstall. Neko is one of the top female musicians around, a really incredible talent with a beautiful voice. |
