Anyone that plays regularly is going to have this kind of thing. 9 times out 10 nothing comes of it, but you should not ignore it either. There are a lot of stupid people out there, that simply dont have enough smarts to not do something.

My latest... A few weeks ago I am playing a $10K winner take all MTT at Fort McDowell and get down to the final table of (10) with ~T$300K another solid player with about the same and another tight but poor player with ~T$500K out of the T$1.6M in play. Everyone else was very short.

The norm is for a chop to be made giving everyone a save of $100-$300 and then dividing up the rest between 1st thru 4th. Well I haven't chopped in four years, and had no plans of doing it now. I will spare you the long boring details, and leave it that I am now not only a target at the table, I need to watch my back now. Too bad the casino is more about warnings than actions...

I was going up the escalator (this was back when the WSOP was downtown) and someone coming down start walking up the down escalator to talk to me and asks "do you remember me?" I say "no" and he says "good" and that was the last I heard from him.

That is extra creepy.

About 3 weeks ago I was playing $5/10NL at the Borgata and I picked up AA utg. I limped cuz it was a loose game and I knew someone would raise and that the couple of players I didn't want in the hand would fold after my reraise putting me on AA. #rd to act makes it $40 to go, 3 callers including the BB. I make it $225. Everyone inc;uding original raiser folds except the BB who reraises to $400. I immediately put in my whole stack of about $1800 and he insta calls. Flop is 7 8 2 rainbow and he turn over 7 8s. Turn is a deuce I flip over my better 2 pair river is a 7 and I say NH and ask for chips. I'm steaming inside cuz I have been the tightest player at the table for 4 hour and everone except this guy knows it, or so I think. Without any prompting on my part he says "I knew you had aces or kings but I knew if I got the right flop I could stack you." I laugh and reminded him that all the money went in preflop and he says "Yea well one time at such & such club you called my all in preflop with 10 10 and flopped a set and busted me when I had KK. Sick thing is that I actually remembered the hand but not the guy and it happened over 4 years ago and it was a $30 w/ $20 rebuys 2 table tourney. The guy fumed when it happened and called me a fish and I told him that I spent a lil time up north and a fish is a guy who gets banged in the hiney and that if he said another word I was gonna show him what it felt like to be a fish. I know, it was in poor taste but I thought it was pretty rude of him and he wa a typical NJ or CT guy livin or playin in NYC whose mouth was writing checks he couldn't cash. Also, the way the hand played out I was getting 4:1 he was short stacked blah blah blah so I didn't do anything wrong. He shut his mouth and left the club and this guy has probably waited 4 years for any opportunity to show me that he wasn't scared of me lol lol lol.....I just repeated "nice hand" and laughed it off. On a brighter note He lost about $2000 back to me when I turned a str8 flush vs his A high flush and he paid me off. It was the second hand I played in the 3 hours since he stacked me and again he was the only player at the table who didn't seem to notice. Go figure.

I think it's funny that the guy trying to "stack you" for a $50 bounty in a $500+ effective stack game is sitting immediately to your right where you can have position on him in every single except when he has the button. His seat selection is terrible if he's trying to stack you.

I don't think you have anything to worry about unless he/they start to stalk you around town over more than just one session. Now, that would be creepy and you might need to talk to the cardroom managers or even the police about it if they are threatening you in some fashion.

But if it was just this one session, then I suspect it's nothing to worry about.

As for making enemies, I know a lot of the regulars who don't like each other due to many past "suck outs" and run-ins of one kind or another. But I don't think they are enemies. They just don't like or respect eachother.

The key labeled "enter" will let you put spaces in your post. There's also a little checkbox below the white box where you write your post labeled "I want to preview my post ." (Which I find funny because there's an extra space between t and . that shouldn't be there. Somebody didn't preview their page.). You should make sure there's a green checkmark in it and then take the opportunity to read what you wrote before submitting it.

Also, you sound like a bit of a douche.

Not long ago at the $40/$80 game at the Borgata, I played with a guy who was running very poorly and cursing and bitching about every single hand. I know that I just described half of the poker world, but this guy took bitching and complaining to a whole new level.

I got involved in a hand with him where I limped ahead of him after about 5 callers with a suited connector, he raised with AQ, and we all called. He flopped top pair but I flopped bottom pair and outdrew him on the river. The following exchange then ensued:

Tilter: Do you want to step outside, you [censored]?
Me: Excuse me?
Tilter: I said do you want to step outside, you [censored] lucky dick head?
Me: Right. I'd clean your clock, buddy. 40 more pounds and 15 fewer years to my advantage.
Dealer: All right guys, settle down.
Tilter: [censored] you! Let's step outside.
Dealer: FLOOR!

Floor: What's the problem?
Dealer: Seat 5 is making threats against Seat 4.
Tilter: I didn't threaten him!
Me: Um, I don't consider anything about you to be threatening, but isn't asking me to "step outside" a verbal threat?
Tilter. No, I was only OFFERING to walk outside with you and discuss this. I don't want to fight.

Floor bursts out laughing. Dealer bursts out laughing. Table tells the idiot to stuff it. Tilter keeps getting redder and redder in the face, and then proceeds to dust off another buyin.

It was easily the most ridiculous conversation I've ever had at a poker table.

There is a guy at Foxwoods who hates straddles and I like to straddle. He calls me names and tries to bully me out of every pot I enter with him. On one visit I got lucky and sucked out on him in a couple of huge pots that were only large because he pushed so hard and he only pushed hard because he doesn't like my play.

Ever since that night he calls me names and flips me off even when I am at a different table or we are both not at the table.

I think its pretty funny and I make sure to play stupid whenever he is at my table. He is a very solid player generally and inadvertantly helps me advertise when I show horrible bluffs or bad calls.

Sometimes he gets over the top with his nastiness so that other people get uncomfortable but it doesn't faze me in the least, except I usually overdo my donkey act when he's there.

I have an ongoing feud with a dealer. Basically, he criticized me a while ago for not tipping a couple times, and I have never tipped him since then, and don't plan on it. Obv our hostility towards one another has gotten worse. I've had to talk to management about his behavior.

Unfortunately for me, he is also a part time floorman, so I need to watch me ass if I am on the table during his flooring shift. There's nothing bad he can do to me while he is dealing, because I always protect my hand, and my action, but I know this guy is scummy enough to go out of his way to give me a bad ruling.

Years back, a Turning Stone dealer was stabbed in the kidneys in the parking lot after a player lost money at her blackjack table. There were other dealer assaults there as well.
