Default gross live hand

3 handed late night 5/5 500 max at T-stone. Villain is tough young aggro reg. He raises his button to 20, i call in BB with T7dd after SB folds. He has about 1200 and I cover.
In the last 2-3 pots where I've defended my bb vs. him I've played back with/without a hand to some degree and he's aware of this.

Flop Tc 7h 5c.
I check dark he bets 25 I raise to 70 and he calls. From what I've seen he's 3betting overpairs/sets 100% but I can't be sure, since he may get trickier when it's shorthanded.

Turn 9s. I bet 110 and he just calls.

River Qs. I feel like my hand has more value vs his range if I check and induce rather than bet like 200 or whatever. So I check and obv. he quickly says all in (1k into 400 pot). wtf? Call or fold and why.

I would fold now because I think if was bluffing he would
a) think about it for a little
b) not shove

and obv he is not v betting worse.

I think I'd prefer to bet the river too

This is a clear fold. I like your river reasoning, and I think in most cases it has at least as much ev as leading.

I would make it 150-180 on turn.

Eh,

- Don't like the preflop call;
- HATE checking dark on the flop (wtf do people do this?);
- re - raise bigger on the flop;
- bet bigger on the turn;
- Checking the river is fine, and your line does look FOS, and he may try and bluff. That said, these type of overshoves live are more frequently nut type value plays than they are air.

You have given some information and made specific assumptions about his style; his range for calling and not 3 betting the flop; his perception of you. So, if you seem to know so much about him - have you ever seen him make a big overshove on the river before? What did he show up with if so? Is he capable of showing up with a hand you beat here?

The standard live is to fold this so you need something player specific to justify a call.

LOL. J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ftw. Fold preflop, don't check flop dark even if you're planning on checking all the time.

My thoughts: This seems an absurdly easy preflop call. We are fairly deep, its live, and I have a suited semi-connector 3 handed and he's opening his button a million % of the time.
My flop c/r and turn bets should have been larger. Meh.
As for the river, my thoughts were that he has exactly KJcc or an airball, with a slight possibility of a weirdly (for him) played QQ. 68, J8cc, 99 all pop the turn 100% and other sets 3bet flop always. I folded the hand but I feel like I should have called because he said all in so quickly. He literally took less than 3 seconds to make this bet, and since it looks like I have garbage I think he takes longer to come up with a bet size if he has the nuts, and certainly doesn't bet so much. He later told me he did in fact have AJcc and had quickly reasoned that all in was the only bet I would not call.
