This is also one of my favorite movies. However, the rewatchability of Requiem is very low.

fully agree, I only watch it when I need a cold slap of reality

well done movie, but the end is horrible. I understand what he was going for, but sometimes too much is just too much (and this is comming from a guy who liked Running Scared). For some reason, movies are being judged by realism (ex. Saving Private Ryan) rather than understood as Storys, Fables, etc. So saying this movie wasn't realistic isn't necessarily a valid criticism IMO, however the end was so ridiculously over the top that it pulled me out of the movie and left me thinking it was trying way to hard.

It's unforgivable that this thread lasted so long without anyone mentioning the sound track. It's probably the best part of the movie (and I enjoyed the movie).

My thoughts, though stated more succintly, exactly.

very true

I watched it this afternoon with 2 people that have never seen it, but I saw it 3 years ago so it was pretty fresh

the ending I found much less disturbing this time, my roomates said this might have been one of the most [censored] up last 20 minutes of a movie ever...

and yes the soundtrack/constant music during every scene is really cool

It wasn't anything like the trailer for the movie. WTF?

[/ QUOTE ]

That's not cool. You could at least link to the actual trailer for those that might want to see the movie.

the movie didn't disturb me at all, and it solidified aronofsky as a hamfisted amateur to me.

well-targetted soundtracks, good acting, shock, etc don't make ideas any better.
