Confusing/humorous church slogan...
This was posted on a churches sign on my drive to school today. I normally enjoy their slogans that they change a couple times a week, but I couldnt make this one out to mean any more than its literal meaning.
"Where god is glorified, satan is worshipped." I hope they are not worshipping satan at that church. -JP |

Re: Confusing/humorous church slogan...
only thing i can think of is they meant to use the "where" to mean "while", meaning you dont worship God , you glorify him. But that still doesnt make much sense hmmm.
Jokester teenageers? My friends and I re-arranged our city welcome sign to say "this weekend island closed to negroes" so i would say thats posible too. |

Re: Confusing/humorous church slogan...
The only intepretation I can think of is anti-catholic. a common protestant criticism of catholics is that they worship saints and are too wrapped up in pomp and superficiality and rituals. Even then, it's a stretch.
maybe some clever vandals rearranged the letters? Or maybe the pastor is just trolling. |

Re: Confusing/humorous church slogan...
Good news, i drove past it last night on the way home from the bar and they changed it to say:
"When god is glorified, satan is horrified." makes too much sense now other side says "Prayer has no roaming charges." |

[/ QUOTE ] I wish I worked at a church, only for this reason. I might not like much about them, but you gotta love churches with a good sense of humor. The contrast with the stereotypical makes it all the funnier. |
