Default Wireless Network Woes...should be simple fix.

Ok I have a Linksys Router thats a couple years old and a wireless network with one desktop hardwired and a laptop in the next room over.

I used to have a problem where My laptop would slowly slowly lose connection then dc then reconnect at full speed. That is not a problem anymore.

Now though, every 5 min or so it dc then reconnects. I wouldnt know except I can tell in AIM. This is the first problem and has been going on a few weeks.

We recently added WEP encryption but now I cannot access certain websites. I can log on and use 2p2 fine but I cannot say go to www.gmail.com. I can access facebook.com but it says page not found upon login and same goes for my school email client.

I was thinking change the network channel for the first problem but have no idea for the second.

Thanks in advance!

Update. I changed the channel and updated router drivers and removed WEP.

I still cannot access those websites on my pc. The desktop connected to the same router CAN access those sites so this may not be a network problem.

Any ideas?

If you can post how you fixed the problem, it might help someone in the future who is having similar problems. Glad you got it all worked out!

In this Case I would have Hardwired the NB - and downloaded drivers for the Router - and the NB -

Unplug router and let it sit...replug...reboot pc's. Simple solve all for routers. Apparently after a few months they just need a break or something.
