Laptop dead...

Ok so my battery was fried on my gateway and i was using it plugged into the wall...now it doesnt turn on at all. The little orange light still goes on.

Could this be that the battery is just so dead that the outlet is usage is futile or is that a stupid thought and the [censored] is just busted?

You should be able to use it without a battery inserted. IT sounds like your power supply may be shot.
