There's a phrase for this: Fancy Play Syndrome (FPS)
Happens quite often when: (a) Playing friends (b) Facing famous LAGGY 2+2 players. 3-bet pre-flop. As played call the river. I prefer the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) style. Garland

Normally i'd just 3-bet preflop. As played, you really missed a dark raise after CDC dark bet the flop.
