[ QUOTE ] I think LeBron is a better basketball player than Kobe when playing at maximal effort. Kobe has to bring it every game just to get to the playoffs in the West, whereas LeBron can just kinda chill. [/ QUOTE ] lebron will surpass kobe bryant when he can knock down j's consistently ... he cant yet ..but he can drive to the basket better than any1 in the NBA [/ QUOTE ] Actually, corey maggette is the best at driving to the hoop |

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
Isn't he that guy that paid the refs off to win a championship a couple years ago and has been injured since? I'm not sure, I forget what he looks like.

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
westhoff, I too hope for the first non-rigged title in three years. We'll see.
All, the rabid debate about Kobe vs. LBJ is a bit silly, no? This is another cat/dog debate, you have to choose one and dig in. I personally think Kobe is the more valuable player, but a lot of that may be seeing him several times more per season. The biggest difference to me is the mental/determination one, when Kobe isn't bitching out in the 7th game of a playoff series his mental toughness and competitive nature is borderline Jordanesque. For whatever reason LBJ just doesn't seem to bring that, at least not to nearly that level. But I'm pretty sure we can all agree that they are <<<< Nash, who as witnessed here can also crank up the scoring and carry his team that way as necessary. |

That series for the Miami offense captures everything wrong with the Heat.

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
lebron 27 pts, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in his career for the playoffs.
kobe 23 pts, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in his career for the playoffs. one player elevates his game, the other gets slightly worse. plz don't cite rings, because kobe has never been the best player on a championship team, and never will be. |

Re: Official NBA Season Thread
GKA,
Well, you're the Rondo > Nash guy, so I take your opinions with a grain of salt. Without looking, the difference I would guess is that Kobe's playoff statistics in the first couple/few years are skewing the more recent ones; back when he was airballing free throws against the Jazz his numbers probably weren't that great. I mean, 23 PPG? |
