Default Did I play this KQo Well?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($25.35)
BB ($35.40)
UTG ($21.75)
MP ($12.10)
CO ($24.90)
Button ($37.20)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls $0.25, CO raises to $1.25, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.15, 1 fold, MP folds.

Flop: ($3) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $2, Hero raises to $5, CO calls $3.

Is my raise a bad bluff or a strong bet? I figured maybe I can get him off AQ or 88, something like that.
What do you think of his call? What should I put him on now?
What do you do if the turn is a blank?

Thanks guys, I'll post the results of this one after a few responses if anyones interested

What are you hoping to accomplish with this raise? If you think villain missed and you will drive him out of the hand then bet more.

I think I would be inclined to call the bet rather than raise. The unfortunate consequence of your bet is that the pot is really too large now and if you miss again you will have no ability to fight for it without putting in a ton of money with one card to come.

Float it for pot control on the flop and reevaluate the turn. If you hit your OESD there are still two betting rounds to get it all in so there is no reason to pump the pot yet. Also you don't want to risk a push on the flop with a draw so you shouldn't give a chance for villain to reraise you off the hand.

Call Flop

If you are doing a check raise for fold equity with a draw you want to make the bet closer to pot sized.

AQ and AK are the most likely. He may even have A10. OOP sucks

I dont like to call pf raises with KQ from the blinds, because you will be OOP rest of the hand.

as played, I would just call the flop bet, since if he calls, you are first to act on the turn, and if the pot is blown up to 15$, you cant make another bet if you miss.

Don't do this OOP. If you were in position on him, then it would be OK (raise size should be a bit bigger).

As it is, just c/c flop, c/f turn if you don't improve.

Playing this preflop out of the blinds vs a PFR can also get you in trouble so beware.

Why did you call this raise preflop? Did you think your hand was better then his range? Do you think you can out play him post flop out of position?

What were you hoping to flop?

Would this hand have been easier to play if you 3 bet preflop?

No, his raise was $3 over the origional $2. Thats why villian only had to call $3.

I would definately make it at least $8 to go if I wanted villian to fold. A pot sized raise would be $7 right? (or am I wrong). That would add a raise of $5 to the origional $2 bet.

No, he called 2 and raised 3, giving villan 3.33 to 1 to call if he is drawing if my maths is correct. If his total action had been $7 (call 2, and raise 5) then the pots odds are reduced to 2.4 to 1 which is significant if villian is drawing. This is what is meant by a pot sized raise.
