Default Good weekend-4day Outings for east coasters

Hey all - have a break coming up from school (in philly) and want to head somewhere with friends and/or the GF. Ideas have been things like cape cod, beach house in NC/SC, Bermuda, lakehouse cabin somewhere chill, etc.

What are some good getaways on the east coast or nearby that aren't totally overdone or touristy?

Cost isn't that much of an issue, but don't want to do anything too far away just because it's not a long vacation and we don't want to spend too much time traveling.

Ocean City is decent, it's run down in places though. Also, OP seems to be looking for something a little more relaxing. My suggestion is the Shenandoah Mountains or the Blue Ridge Mountains. Both have Cabins in the part that are starting to get a little cheaper this time of year. My girlfriend found one for 90 bucks a night during the weekend. If you like hiking, that's a bonus. Most of this stuff is easily available on the internet. Also, if you are looking too party, nobody is going to bother you unless you get a cabin directly next to somebody else. Some of the stores along the parkway have beer, but it's expensive. Not sure why I'm saying this, as I'm not sure what your motive is. But, the mountains are beautiful this time of year.

IMO, both Cape Cod (5-7 hours) and NC/SC beaches (8-12 depending on where you go) are a long drive for a 4-day weekend. The Shenandoahs sound like a good idea.
