Either fold 4th (if you don't fold 4th then raise 5th to better find out where you are) or fold river.

P.S. Considering the cards out and those behind you, what made you not raise 3rd there?

Folding third is okay if we were in first position against the same upcards in same structure but in this position it is a very solid hand.

I'd be more than willing to play it if someone will tell me how. Suppose I catch a Jack on 4th and villain catches a 5, what's my play? How about if villain catches a 7 and I catch an 8?

Generally speaking, what am I trying to do here?

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. The lack of action does mean the pot is small enough that I don't think it's quite worth paying off.
