Default Re: Should i be mad at my friend?

hey quids, i know what you mean. But the problem is that he has been saying this SAME EXACT THING since sophomore year of college. He told me he will study every day yet I ask him what he did the last week and tells me he did nothing but play computer games at home. He said this sophomore and junior year and never really studied that much. He never really sticked to his word pretty much. And now we're seniors already. If he did that and maintained a good gpa the last 2-3 years, then i wouldnt be mad because he stuck to his word.

I dont know about you guys but if its my close buddies birthday, i would never say no unless i had something big to do like if there was a wedding in my family, or it was midterm, finals week. I mean its the first week of class. We didnt even have any big assignments yet let alone exams.

I wouldnt be too pissed. Im the same way as your buddy, in regards to studying, work, working out, etc. When I start something "fresh" (new semester, new routine, new job), I will forsake a ton of things to form good habits early on. Dont take it personally....and also, dont be pissed 3 weeks from now when he goes out drinking and slides back into bad grade habits, its just how some people are.

F that. I'm pretty laid back when it comes to birthdays, but I don't think it's too much to ask for this guys friends to take one night off for his 21st birthday. Making sacrifices is what friendship is all about, and I seriously doubt that going to a casino on a Saturday night in the second week of a college semester is really that much of a sacrifice. Work a couple of hours during the week or something.

Yea goodsamaritan. I dont know about the rest of you guys but if my close friend wants to do something and i am not busy, i will definitely do it. I would never not agree on something if its like my buds birthday. I'm also a really laid back person but my friend jsut tells me I am too lazy sometimes.

His last response to me before talking to me on aim was "go study your cost accounting book on your birthday". You taking it a 3rd time so you should be studying. Wtf?

And to the guy that says he probably dont like me,... absoultely not. We are really cool but this thing just bugged me real bad.

not sure what u mean by that. When he saids this stuff about him studying everyday, he really means it. But the problem is that he never sticks to his word. Some other person in another person recommmened me to just ditch him as a friend.

He told me he was in a situation liek this but it was not a bday thing and he said the greatest thing he did was leave his friend and get new friends.

You shouldn't be mad but you should get cooler friends. Also since when do you need someone else to come with you to a casino. Going with friends is the worst, they hold you back when you start running well at the craps table.

I just want some friends of mine to be with me when I am there. Its really boring if you go to a casino by yourself i heard. Its my birthday so I just them to be there eat, get some drinks and just chill basically.

And no, i dont play craps. I just want to play holdem.
