For quick relief... seriously... try glycerin suppositories.

Prunes are tasty and also help in ungumming the works.

You're a little young to be obsessing on your bowel movements....save it for something to do when you're 65 or so....

But if you NEED to go, hit the drug store for a bottle of Magnesium Citrate. Half when you get home, half four hours later if needed (you won't need to) - then STAY NEAR THE TOILET until you're done....tends to be pretty explosive.

Or, you could try the Rosenfeld Maneuver - swallow a mouse and sit on a piece of cheese. Supposedly 100% effective - if you try it, a trip report would be useful....

Drinking water is more important than most people think. Big difference in how fast the poop goes through.

Also, of course, fiber. But not too much all at once. For instance, if I eat a bunch of carrots all at once, it can actually constipate me. Better to eat some fiber with every meal -- veggies and such, and maybe have an apple once or twice a day between meals. And then maybe some psyllium husks or standard fiber supplements like that.

Whoa! Is this why I sometimes find it harder to go now since I started eating Fiber One cereal every day?

It can be that way for me. Too much fiber all at once just becomes kind of a brick sometimes. A little moderation works better for me. It also makes some people gassy.

Use an anal suppository. I did that once, and while it felt very awkward going in, and sitting in your pooper, it meticulously retrieved the constipated crap, and worked wonders.
