outfit and action
I appologize if this question has allready been asked but.... does the way you dress really effect how people will play at you in live games? Usually I go to AC dressed up in a polo shirt and nice jeans and othertimes im super casual in sweats and a hoodie... do people give more respect to those dressed nicely and play looser with people who look more causal?

Re: outfit and action
Dressing nice makes it more likely the pros will peg you as a tourist, since very few pros or regulars keep dressing up when they don't have to.
What effect that would have on your expectation probably depends on the game. I don't really know off hand what effect nice clothes have (if any) on the tourists. |

Re: outfit and action
It's not how you look; it's how you smell.

Re: outfit and action
The only fashion article I've ever seen make an immediate impression on a table is a name tag from a conference. I think that only works in Vegas though.

Re: outfit and action
People might react differently to someone who is dressed up, but dressed up does not mean "polo shirt and nice jeans".

A conference badge and multi-foot beverage are the ultimate donk-simulation accessories for a middle aged white guy. Mardi-gras style beads don't hurt either. Gangsta bling works well for blacks. I think shopping bags are the best bet for women of any race. |

Re: outfit and action
Just wanted to echo that "polo and jeans" would not be considered dressed up.
Also, I would suspect that your generalizations are exactly backwards - nicely dressed more likly means well off and playing with disposable income aka came to gamble, and scruffy more likely means the stakes are important and player is taking the game seriously. $0.02 |
