Default 77 small overpair - standard?

Villain seems horrible, no specific reads, 64/14/0.6. Is this standard?

checking turn is better, pot control, could induce bluff on the river, call/bet river no matter card
as played i guess it's a fold

I know i posted it asking for advice, but after thinking about it i really disagree with checking the turn.

1. He's easily bad enough to call the turn with any draw or bottom pair even, especially a half pot bet.

2. I disagree that we have to snap call the river if we play pot control - he is very passive and could easily have a 6, flopped a set, but he could also have air/overs. It puts us in a tough spot. Now is the best time to get value i think if he has a lower 2 pair before any scare cards fall.

Agree/disagree?

Bet more on the turn so that you can actually fold out some draws (almost all draws have direct odds to call any bet you make), or check behind/call most bets on safe rivers.

i think your line is fine. betting small is good b/c there's a decent chance that villain has a very mediocre made hand (3x, 2x, A hi) and will call only a small bet. checking behind is also ok.
