Re: POG MOLE - Game Thread
Task 11: Push Your Luck Trivia
2 parts: This task will be done in 2 parts. Each part has 5 questions, and only those who do well enough on part 1 will move on to part 2. Additionally, if at least 7 players on your team get 15+ points in part 1, then your mole will automatically move to round 2, even if he didn't get 15+ points. Scoring: Each question has 10+ choices. Some of those choices are right, and some are wrong. You can either say which ones are right, or which ones are wrong. If you say which ones are right, then u get one point each for them, but if u make a mistake and say any is right when it is not, u get 0 points for the entire question. Same thing for saying which are wrong; one point each if u are correct, but even one incorrect choice means 0 points for the question. Example: Cell Phone Makers: Motorola Samsung Nokia 2+2 Coca-Cola Dell You can say that motorola and nokia are right and get 2 points. But if u say motorola, nokia and dell are right, u get 0 points. Similiarly, u can say 2+2 and coke are wrong for 2 points. But if you say 2+2 and coke and samsung are wrong, then 0 points. Due Date: pmed to me by Tuesday 7am for round 1 IMPORTANT RULE: Absolutely no resources allowed here; no internet, no books, no discussing these questions, etc. I blatantly stole these questions from another forum, so don't go searching for the questions. The Questions: 1) What happened in 1492? Columbus landed in Cuba DaVinci painted "The Adoration of the Magi" Elizabeth I was born Japan captured Pyongyang Jews expelled from Spain Moors invaded Granada Pope Alexander VI elected Succession of Ivan the Great Scotland allied with France Turks sieged Constantinople 2) Although they may have not been used to sail to the New World, which of these are vessels with sails? barque brig cog corvette clipper flot hoist junk mizzen smack 3) Columbus thought he had discovered the Indies. If he had actually been in the Indian Ocean, which of these island nations could he have seen? (The nations obviously were not recognized until hundreds of years later.) Carolines Ellice Islands Grenadines Maldive Islands Malta Marshall Islands New Hebrides Pleasant Island Republic of Seychelles Sain Kitts and Nevis 4) So which places DID he visit? The Bahamas Barbados Bermuda Canary Islands Haiti Jamaica Martinique Panama Puerto Rico Trinidad Venezuela 5) Invasion necessitates conquest. Of these military actions, which involved casualties over 100,000? (Their respective wars have been given to differentiate them from other battles that might have the same name.) Battle of Hastings (Norman Invasion) Battle of Jerusalem (WWI) Battle of Thermopylae (Greco-Persian Wars) Battle of Waterloo (Napoleonic Wars) Fall of Constantinople (Byantine-Ottoman Wars) Fall of Tenochtitlan (Conquest of Mexico) Invasion of Poland (WWII) Operation Desert Storm (Gulf War) Siege of Carthage (Third Punic War) Siege of Paris (Franco-Prussian War) |
