There's this movie called The General directed by John Boorman. Brendan Gleeson plays the main character-- Martin Cahill, a famous Irish gangster. Van Morrison did the sound track and there are a couple scenes in the movie where the music is just perfect.

The masters of scene/song combos were obiously Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone.

The Intro of Once Upon a time in the West, Frank´s Intro, Morton dream with the Ocean, Claudia Cardinale´s arrival, Tuco running with Ecstasy of Gold, the final duel with The trio in the background, well, there are lot. The best combo by far.

Just about any of the Cat Stevens songs from "Harold & Maude."

Thus Spake Zarathustra - 2001 A Space Odyssey

The Blue Danube - 2001 A Space Odyssey

When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again - Dr. Strangelove

We'll Meet Again - Dr. Strangelove

Flight of the Valkyrie - Apocalypse Now

Son of a Preacher Man - Pulp Fiction

Surf Rider - Pulp Fiction

Not really a song, but the music throught Return of the Jedi was awesome, same with Harold and Maude (mentioned)

Love Reign O'er Me - Quadrophenia (all music great - that song best combo in it)

I have little kids and some of the disney stuff has great songs, notably:

The Bare Necessities - Jungle Book

The Flooding Song (not the title) - Winnie the Pooh

The Dancing Song (not the title) - Snow White

I could do this all night. I'll just stop.

I really like how Fight Club ends with the Pixies and how the Matrix ends with Rage Against the Machine....awesome songs to end those movies with.

I had turned my computer off, but had to come back for one of my favorite movie/music moments. It's not really a song, but...

In Rocky II, when Adrian has just awoken from her coma, she says she has something she wants Rocky to do and calls him close and then she whispers "win."

The bell rings and then the music and the training montage and those moments are some of the best ever in film, imho. Really, just the very begining/transition of scenes there is awesome.
