Fine. It doesn't change the fact that playing 98cc in that way in that spot is a losing play vs. a good player.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think that if you are going to do that you better do it against a good player since he might fold something while a bad player will never fold anything.

[/ QUOTE ]

what hand could a good player have here that makes any sense for him to fold given Reshef's line?

These threads are EXACTLY why he wins

[/ QUOTE ]
yep, his image has certainly been advertised quite a bit, he must capitalize on that very well by inducing tilt and respewing from otherwise decent tags.

[/ QUOTE ]

this just means they are bad tags

[/ QUOTE ]

well, that player type is arguably the most common type at 10/20 these days, so if he is maximizing against bag tags, that could go a long way in explaining his success

[/ QUOTE ]

i think this is exactly the case.

Please explain how my play in this hand is exploitable by Reshef in this instance.

[/ QUOTE ]

If your range after 3betting the flop and betting the turn contains no draws, then he can exploit you by folding a lot of weak hands on the turn and river - hands that he would have to call down against someone who might be semi-bluffing.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you are often 3betting this flop and barreling this turn vs. this opponent with merely draws, then you really suck at this game and a good player is going to bury you.

[/ QUOTE ]

Waffle,

Also please explain what draws I can have on this board that make any sense.

How is it that this forum can see these hands from the biggest 10/20 winner according to datamined HHs and call him a spew monkey, but when Hoss plays like this it's genius?

i'm sorry i know it's not everybody but it's some of you and that's for sure and that's embarrassing.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think you are oversimplifying things a bit. I have never played with Hoss but I am fairly certain that the spots in which he makes plays (like Reshef did with the 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] vs. my AA) are deeply metagame based and also happen on the right kind of boards with the right kind of action. Given my image, the board, and the preflop and flop action, I would highly doubt Hoss would make that play. In fact, I am almost certain he wouldn't, as it is just stupid.

Reshef, on the other hand, multi-tables and likely doesn't pay as much attention to player tendencies/metagame as he should. This is not to say that he doesn't win, or that his play is not profitable vs. the average online player. It is to say, however, that a good player would wreck his ass if he continually did stuff like this.

Villian is Reshef, one the most successful 10/20 players on stars.

PokerStars 10/20 Hold'em (6 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, BB :#A500AF(Reshef )/ calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
Reshef checks, UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Reshef raises</font>, UTG calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Reshef caps</font>, UTG folds, Hero calls.

Turn: (9.75 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Reshef bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: (11.75 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Reshef bets</font>, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 13.75 BB

Results:
Reshef has Kd 6d (flush, king high).
Hero has Qs Qh (three of a kind, queens).
Outcome: Reshef wins 13.75 BB.

[/ QUOTE ]

I have no idea if he is smart enough to know that his cold-call in the BB looks a lot like KQs, AQ or 88. This combined with the fact that he can (a) get rid of UTG and (b) that board is bad news for lots of hands in heroes range make his initial flop play totally fine.

Once UTG cold-calls, the jig is up. UTG has played his hand like he has Ax of diamonds, or a pair. He called 2 bets the first time around, he sure as hell ain't folding for 2 more when the pot is bigger the second time around.

Capping the flop is retarded. Calling preflop defies description.

In your hand you can have a flush draw e.g. Ac10c it seems correct to me for you to 3 bet the flop and bet the turn in an attempt to get 77, 88, A6 etc to fold against alot of 10/20 players. Though I have no idea if this guy ever folds them.

I can likely only have 3 flush draws here.
