Default Party Poker knows what websites you go to?? About pokerprophecy.c

I was playing a SitnGo on Party and a message popped up saying that I was using a program which gave me an unfair advantage over other players. I called customer service and asked them what it was regarding and they said I had gone to pokerprophecy.com.

I had gone there to see what my stats were.

Now, what I'm wondering is, what enables party to see that I went there? I'm on pokerprophecy.com's website using their service which is on their server, so how does party see that I'm doing that?

Party obviously could have something on their software which enables them to see what sites I'm going to, but isn't that a huge violation of privacy? I'm going to read through Party's privacy statement, but if anyone has more info on this, please elaborate.

you have been around since '04 and you have not heard of this?

it is standard at all reputable sites. they are monitoring for winholdem mostly, but will find all of the cheating software.

That is very scary.

Monitoring your desktop for applications being ran concurrently and going through your browser history or actively monitoring your browser while their client is open are different things. Both in my opinion are serious violations of privacy.

It's not much different from how adware companies run their businesses which is getting you to install software then monitoring what sites you go to and serving ads based on those sites.

I now wonder what other information they data mine while you’re playing at their tables.

Yea, this is honestly the first time a message has popped up while I was playing. They said it was my 2nd warning, but I obviously didn't receive the first one.

I can see if they can detect an actual program running on your computer, but knowing what websites you're going to? That's quite an intrusion of privacy.

It's an invasion of privacy you agree to when you accepted their terms. You have the option of cashing out and playing elsewhere. I think a lot of people are happy that they go to such measures to ensure the integrity of their games.

I personally don't think it's much to worry about. They probably have certain sites they check for that raise a flag. It's extremely unlikely that they send your entire browsing history to their servers.
