Default Games that made you cry.

With Pats/Colts just over one week away, there have been a few articles about the 1990 MNF game between the Giants and 49ers when both teams were 10-1 (and both 10-0 heading into the preceding week). That, in turn, has got me thinking about those late-80s and early-90s Giants teams that I cared so much about as a kid (born in '80).

There were at least a couple of Giants games that made me go to my room and cry, but the only one I remember vividly was the 1989 divisional playoff game against the Rams that the Giants lost in overtime (because of a pass interference call THAT WAS TOTAL BS!). That game ruined my whole week.

So, which games made you literally sit down and cry? Bonus points if you were a teenager or older.

I didn't cry in 1978 when the Red Sox lost, I didn't watch the Bucky Dent game, I am not sure why, I think my parents wouldn't let me, they knew I followed the team all summer, and with the lead fading, I think they wanted to protect me, not sure.

I think I remember right around that time, I watched the Patriots play the Steelers early in the 1978 season on Monday Night Football, and the late Darryl Stingley was hurt in the preseason, but I think he was at the game, it was just weird. I'm 9 or so here, I don't really remember. I went to bed with the Patriots ahead, found out they lost, and found out the Red Sox lost.

But I don't think I cried, I think I felt like I felt when they told me my dog had died. Not sure how to describe it, but I didn't cry, probably would have been beneficial to cry more.

1999: JAX 62 - Miami 7. What a way to leave football.

Also, Wimbledon 2001. Goran, having lost in the finals 3 times before in his career, enters as a wildcard ranked like 125th or something in the world. The only reason they let him was because of his history there. He proceeds to play like a bat out of hell, mopping up a veritable who's who of tennis, including Moya, Roddick, Safin and Henman. I've never seen anyone serve like that before or after. Finally, in the extra games of 5th set against Rafter, he gets his first championship point in 13 years and four trips to the finals...and double faults. A couple points later he gets his second championship point...and double faults again. Rafter wins the 3rd. He comes up to the line for the 4th, furiously crossing himself and looking like he's thinking theres no way god is doing this to me, and wins the point. Greatest moment in sports hands down. He was crying, his dad was crying, everyone was. On a side note Sampras's legendary streak at Wimbledon also came to an end that tournament which was really sad. He lost to Federer, which was a pretty crazy passing of the torch.

EDIT almost forgot...[censored] Vince Young
