Bargnani should be higher, Pau lower.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'll plead ignorant on this one. I NEVER see the raptors play, and all season he's been on par with Morrison in terms of awfulness.

edit (can you tell I'm drunk with all the edits?): I agree with Pau though. I think he's great, but not a franchise guy, and I'm glad the Cs haven't traded their future for him. That being said he's in the top 30 for me.

I think you nailed it. Him and Okafur are VERY close. Obviously Big Al is way more polished offensively, so I give him the slight edge, but I'm a big big Okafur fan too.

I might place him higher than Marion. i.e., I think Marion is awesome (though I don't like him much), but I don't think I'd ever want to feature him in a premiere role. He seems to thrive in that 2nd/3rd option role. Big Al I feel really good about as a 1st option, especially in a couple years.

edit: what I meant was maybe drop Marion a few spots.

This is completely my own subjective opinion, but whenever I watch Morrison play I think "Man this guy is awful", and whenever I watch Bargnani play I think "Man this guy is going to be so freaking awesome."

Biggest ommission is Zach Randolph, followed by Andrew Bogut.

[/ QUOTE ]

Randolph is a sick talent, but he has spent his grievance time in a titty bar.

As for Bogut, I disagree. I like him, but he's just never going to be a top 40 guy. He's currently a 12/8 guy. I'll be [censored] shocked if he's ever more than a 15/10 guy, and as a center, that just doesn't cut it. That's a Horace Grant. Good? def. Top 40? nope.

Thayer,

From all I've read, I agree. I'd certainly take Bargnani over Morrison any day of the week, but I have a hard time placing him high on a top 40 list when, all things considered, he's been really awful this season. That being said, I hope he's great. I truly think Toronto could be awesome soon, and when I move back to Boston I'll look forward to seeing them a few times a year.

Guys I think are missing from the top 40:

Some NorCal love:

Baron Davis: Obviously health is a major issue. Actually [censored] him, he has a hard time getting over 50 games. But he's awesome when he's healthy. One of the best, actually. Real shame, actually.

J-Rich: Health not as big an issue. This guy is really good people. I'd take him over David Lee and Tayshuan Prince, two guys I like a lot.

Andrew Bynum: Right now I have him on the fringe of the top 40. His hands are super sexy. It's really close with this kid. He's clearly behind Big Al right now, but he's very young. I think next season will tell the story.

Igoudala: Seriously beasting it since AI left. I think he's going to be stud for years to come. Lock down defender is a major plus.

Livingston: just kidding

Wow, this is waaaaaaay low IMO. Also note that Josh doesn't turn 22 for over 8 more months.

Not even a mention of why Allen Iverson isn't in here?

And how about Brandon Roy? He's looked really great this year.
