[01:08] eagleskickass99: I think Bosh is awesome but I wouldn't put him 2 probably like 4 or 5. He's really good but two things to consider are
1. Howard is a 2 years younger
2. I'm a Toronto fan so I might underrate bosh because I don't want to be a huge homer

Arenas I might put a tiny bit higher, probably ahead of Pau/ Boozer/Deron but it's close

Duncan/KG/Kobe I kind of want to put higher but can't really justify it because their going to get worse not better

Vince should be somewhere in the top 40

Some of the young big men are overrated because they may not come close to their potential. But guys like Pierce, Tmac, O'neal, Butler, Howard, Prince are more proven and it will be easier to predict there results.

shadownrun,

you are arguing over an arbitrary term.

i am done talking about it.

anything else about the rankings??

[/ QUOTE ]

your right about me still arguing about a term, my bad.

i think tyson chandler is rated too high, yes he is having a good year currently but you cant discount the 5 yrs before that.
you are kinda projecting here and i dont think he is close to reaching his ceiling.
he is like a poor mans ben wallace

i would rather have players 27-40 than him (minus david lee).

I like the absence of Vince. He'll go down as one of the most talented players to never really do squat. If I added him to the top 40, it'd be in the 35-40 range.

I'd put Gerald Wallace higher. OK not much higher, but he's really good.

I really, really can't see taking Dwayne Wade over Dwight Howard. Age, durability, size all point to Howard.

Other quibbles with a pretty good list:
Nash is way, way, way too high. 33 years old. You'd have to be high to pick him ahead of Al Jefferson under the hypothetical listed.

Jermaine O'Neal is completely busted and not in the top 40. You're seriously picking him over, say, Mehmet Okur? Drew Gooden?

Biggest ommission is Zach Randolph, followed by Andrew Bogut.

I take Jermaine over the both those guys. I'm honestly one of the biggest Jermaine haters ever. Jermaine is a popular "let's trade for him" guy for a lot of Celtics fans, and I'd honestly [censored] myself if he ever put on a Cs jersey, but he's better than those guys. I like Okur and Gooden both, but let's be real here. Jermaine is good for close to a 20/10 with some solid D. Drew Gooden shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence, Okur is closer.

I agree though, he's way too high.

flywf,

good response. here are some justifications or agreements...

1. Wade is better at age than Kobe Bryant IMO. He is still improving, and I love everything he brings to the table. Wade can put a team on his shoulders. Howard can't.

2. Agree that Nash may be too high. I certainly wouldn't trade Al Jefferson for him.

3. Jermaine O'Neal is still a 20/10 guy with range on his jumper. He also plays pretty good defense, which guys like Jefferson and Aldridge still currently lack.

4. Okur is a definite omission. Drew Gooden...not even in my top 60.

5. Agreed about Zach Randolph on talent, but Im not a Randolph fan, and 2+2 resident Blazer fans question whether they want him as part of the future.

6. Bogut I like, but I don't think he's as good as David Lee, who I could barely justify putting on the list.

What killed me was not being able to put on Leandro Barbosa and Mike Miller.

FWIW I showed this to two Raptors fans who think Bargnani is too high.

Ive only seen him 3 or 4 times so i really dont know.

WRT Pau---probably a bit lower is right, but I'm a huge fanboy.
