Default 2 hands vs. LAG NL2

Both hands are against the same LAG. He has probably raised about 40% of hands preflop. However, I'm pretty sure that he is just doing the normal c-betting stuff against tight fish, but sort of recognizes my style of play (2p2 TAG style) and is playing me differently, so I'm not sure how I should've played these hands. He is the reason I'm still at this table though, he bets huge and stacks off light, so I'm waiting to trap him.

Raised to isolate the fish w/ position. C-bet is pretty standard I think. He seems like the kind of guy that would float or C/C w/ any two cards on the flop. I double barrel the turn and this was my plan in the first place. He folds ALOT here I think, but he min-raised and I have notes on the guy that say,"Check-called flop w/ trips, check-raised turn." Obvious fold.

Ok, shortly after that last hand. Raise to isolate the fishy again. The C-bet here being too small was a mistake and I opened myself up to a bluff. My read says he's FoS but probably too risky here to call/push. Like I said, I'm planning to trap this guy.

Got a couple of questions.

1. What would you have done on the 2nd hand? Fold seems right here.
2. Is my thought process wrong? for NL2?

(1) you don't have to get fancy raising weak aces to beat a LAG. A8os is kind of junky.
(2) I would be curious to see some hands of yours where you connected. Your betsizes looks like your weak. You bet .30 into a .55 pot. Then on the turn, you bet less the 1/2 the pot. And you fold to a minraise!! You're begging him to take it away from you with any 2 cards. Make a real bet or check.
(3) you did the same thing on hand 2 - you lead for less then 1/2 a pot. It looks like you're screaming, "I got nothing... so I'm betting small."
(4) trying to outlag a lag is just going to cause huge variance. At these tables, you beat them by playing better hands and valuebetting when you're ahead. Period.

Yeah, looking back outlagging a lag is probably not the best way to go. A little more background I can give is that I have stacked off really really light against villains who I knew I beat with. And also this hand happened somewhere around that time against same LAG.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

CO ($1.40)
Button ($3.86)
SB ($4.90)
Hero ($5)
UTG ($1.17)
MP1 ($5)
MP2 ($5.19)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
3 folds, CO calls $0.02, Button raises to $0.06, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.04, CO folds.

Flop: ($0.15) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $0.12, Hero raises to $0.3, Button calls $0.18.

Turn: ($0.75) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

River: ($0.75) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $0.3, Button calls $0.30.

Final Pot: $1.35

Results in white below:
Hero has Jd 6d (two pair, tens and sixes).
Button has Ks Ad (one pair, tens).
Outcome: Hero wins $1.35.

River bet is a pretty bad blocking bet, but it worked. So you can sorta tell that we were kind of at the table waiting to set eachother up. Looking back though, after that hand I guess he could tell that my handstrength corresponded to bet-size. right?

Appreciate the help.

Edit: Looking back, I really feel like I was getting outplayed. W/E...still running like 100+BB/100hands for the last 1500.

1. Fold PF. All your going to do is get yourself into trouble

2. I think its fine until the flop. As Kurto said you need to bet more.

I had these problems where I would try to get too fancy, and all that really does is set you up for trouble. To beat the lower limits you dont need to be fancy. Just value bet.

Ok then, I'm definitely gonna stop doing this with such crappy hands. I got lucky this session that I didn't lose a lot more. Taking notes and making good reads on villains is fun though.

This is full ring and a 40 pfr is so sick.

Either way, you can't 3b light and isolate at FR as much as you can at 6max.

3betting w/ A8o sucks. I'd rather do it with a hand like 78, 44, etc.

Not sure if he's the type that floats and makes plays on the turn - but looks like a fold.

As a side note - if you keep going after this guy, watch out for the other 7 guys trying to trap your aggression with AA, sets, etc.
