Default Class action lawsuit against WM

[ QUOTE ]

If you purchased WaMu stock from April 18, 2006 until Nov. 1, 2007 and want to participate as lead plaintiff in this class action you must move on or before January 4, 2008. Visit www.hbsslaw.com/wamu or contact HBSS at wamu@hbsslaw.com or 206-623-7292.

[/ QUOTE ]

I fall under the category of having purchased stock during this time period and I have got totally destroyed by the stock. If the lawsuit is successful, will I receive money regardless of whether I become a "lead plaintiff"?

I'm pretty ignorant in both litigation and investing, so if somebody would be willing to dumb this down for me, it would be much appreciated.

here are links to the complete releases:

Interesting angle. Sue companies when their stock price drops.

Look - no downside!

Yes, if they are successful, you will get money, as will everyone else that falls into the class. It's usually a settlement, and the lawyers make out like bandits. Don't expect a lot. It will be on the order of maybe 500 bucks if you lost ten grand on the stock.
