Default NL100: QQ overpair v TAG

Villain is TAG, probably on the nittier side. Other than that I don't know a ton about him. I 3-bet a lot PF if that means anything to you. Interested in what people think of this line in this spot.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Hero ($207.25)
BB ($107.20)
UTG ($92.55)
MP ($111.65)
CO ($104.25)
Button ($100)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $4</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $15</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, CO calls $11.

Flop: ($31) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, CO checks.

Turn: ($31) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $21</font>, CO calls $21.

River: ($73) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $69</font>.

Is a worse hand calling often enough on that river?

I usually would just bet half on the river. Take out what villian does on the river if you want better answers

yah 1/2pb on river vs tag, full pot bet on river vs loose passive.

I guess what I was thinking is that if I were a TAG, I'd be super suspicious of something that looked like a VB, but might be more apt to call a larger bet. I dunno. We could probably nth level ourselves all day with that logic though.

Flop check was for deception, not pot control. I don't always play it that way, but I like to mix it up against stronger players to squeeze out some extra value.

To clarify: I 3-bet a ton PF, and often when I have some marginal crap, and the nit guy calls me, I'll just check/fold flops that don't smack me in the face.

If i where Villain i would be super suspicious to your flop check, because i CB a lot after my 3Bs esp. OOP.

I would be looking to play a medium sized pot, and i think i would want to imitate my hand as air or AK type of hand.

The way you played it, i think it's quite transparent that you hold what you hold.

Maybe i'm way off, but this is my first thoughts.

How do you play AK in this spot? Play it like that.
