Default AQ vs floater in 3 bet pot

villain here is 23/13/3 but despite these stats is a poor player.
his fold to cbet is <40% and my reads on him are that he 3 bets light, pulls a lot of moves and is generally just a pretty poor player.

Full Tilt Poker, $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 4 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

BTN: $65.65
SB: $58.40
Hero (BB): $53.50
UTG: $134.55

Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
UTG folds, BTN raises to $1.75, SB folds, Hero raises to $5.50, BTN calls $3.75

Flop: ($11.25) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $8, BTN calls $8

Turn: ($27.25) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)

I think this turn is the crux point - he looks people up light on the flop obv and puts moves on people so i think if i check this turn to him he is likely to bet a very large part of his range - obv i am scared of ak but how many other likely holdings could he have? the FD is v unlikely - is he calling a 3 bet with 910 or aj? hes a bad player but he is a tight player nonetheless and i think all these are very small parts of his range. also once we crai he may well call with a bare Ks or make a desperation call which means we extract even more when we are ahead.
i think its dead close - what you think?

PF: Make your 3bet a bit bigger. $6,5 - $7 will do. Flop is standard.

We check the turn, to allow him to take a stab at the pot. By doing this, we give him the opportunity to bluff, since he expects us to cbet that flop about 100% of the time. If the players is as you describe him, Ill happily c/rai on that turn, and expect him to call with KsXx

if that's your read, crai and get looked up by a random spade. but later in your post you say he's a bad/tight player. which is it?

I don't like preflop against the guy you described. He looks people up light and he pulls a lot of moves and we have a hand that can't take much heat postflop. As played you can c/r, but it's the worst card in the deck for you to do it on. So you can lead again and fold to a raise, except he's gonna fold most of his hands that we beat. I'd prob just c/f and get pissed.

I was thinking along the same lines and was amazed when every1 said c/r...
Every hand got there! what do we beat? for every hand you find that villain could have that you beat you can find 2 that you donīt

everyone didn't say it, just two of us. the point of my post though was to try and examine bishop's read on the guy (which is anything concrete from the OP), rather than give any solid advice.

im really thinkin we could bet small and fold to a raise. or we can c/c and bet a non spade river.

actually i would prolly would c/f this turn and then wait for a better spot cause as played we got nothing really

hes a tight player who often pulls unorthodox moves - his fold ot cbet <40% shows this to be true (reasonable datamined sample) - many of his plays are often bad - i dont think these things are mutually exclusive myself but maybe ive grasped the wrong end of the stick?
