As for looking up my opponents - since I don't multi-table often, I have plenty of time in between hands and therefore always have a rough idea of each player's ability drawn from OPR. Actually that may be part of the problem! It never ceases to amaze me I can be in the 99.6th percentile on that thing - I frequently am the "best" player at the table and assume I can just exploit everyone else. Perhaps sometimes you're just better off not knowing...

[/ QUOTE ]
Ignore the silly percentile thingy, focus on ROI (to a degree) and stakes instead. Obviously combine with reads, trusting stats is silly.

I agree. There is a lot you learn from OPR, but the percentile/ranking numbers won't help and often will mislead.

I do pay strict attention to ROIs when looking up others, it's just hard to ignore my own ranking when it's so high! Of course, that alone tells me how f'd the ranking system is.
