Re: Quick question re: playing 12-handed...
[ QUOTE ]
Is there any reason you can't if there is room to fit 12 at the table? I can't think of any reason not to. I overbooked my game tonight and I have no desire to set up a 2nd table. [/ QUOTE ] Our local group has about 40 people, and any number of them might show up. The majority don't like to play short-handed, so we stay at one table until we get 14 before splitting up. (This is a cash game, BTW, not a tourney.) We frequently end up playing 12-13 at a table the whole session when that is all that shows. (Actually, we play on four restaurant tables pushed together with a cover spread over them on which cards and chips slide easily. I hope that you have a 96" table. I would hate to be one of 12 people on anything less.) I used to hate this game because it's so hard to get quality hands to hold up against a dozen loose players, but once you get used to it, it becomes very profitable. The bad beats are offset by the huge pots when you finally win. |
