40 BB downswing - Business as usual ?

(I hope this is the right place for this question)

Do you consider 40 BB downswings as normal ? Makes me tilt the last days.. Up 60 BBs, down 40, up 40, down 40.. I´m not complaining, i´m just asking: Should i reconsider the way i play, or should i play with my girlfriend after loosing my hole buy-in on two tables at once and just forget about it ?

I consider 40BB down a bad orbit.

Really, 40? Read BBV and be glad Boz is out of touch for a month.

To be honest its difficult for posters to really know how well you are playing or not.

A 40 BB downswing is not a huge swing for a seasoned regular player. But, these players play a large number of hands and its normal for them to experience this kind of variance.

However, if you are only playing occassionally, you would prefer your results not to be so erratic.

Dont give up on playing poker, because I am sure that you enjoy the game.

Participate in this forum, post some hands that you have played, and respond to some hands that other players have played.

That should be your best recipe to not questioning your playing ability.

A good player will finish 55-60% of his sessions up and the other 40-45% will be losing sessions. So the key is not to make every session a winner just to make the wins bigger then the loses. Chill out though when you have slides through multiple sessions of like 100-200BB total then you can start to complain but when you do do it in the NC thread.
