18 in lansing. I assume it will be 18 in grand rapids and muskegon. I just went down there to find out how they were allowed to just open up a card room. I guess all the rake goes to charity.
I'm pretty sure the dealers were just randoms that showed up but didn't have enough cash to play. Haven't seen worse. But hopefully they will sort that out

Are they raked like the downtown casinos? I hate the way they charge by the hour.

Kind of funny that they are having a grand opening this weekend when the one in muskegon has been around since at least last summer and grand rapids one has been around for a while, but its certainly nice for us living in the area.

If they aren't using anything approaching professional dealers, I'd watch for cheating in that game.

The rake is 10% up to $5 in Limit games and 10% up to 7 in the NL. Most of the dealers are unprofessional because they are from the charity-of-the-week.

I don't have much good to say about these places except that it's nice to have a place to play live cards which isn't very far away and of course rather bad players.

Biggest negitive is that there is no checkraising is cash games.

The only game that runs in Muskegon and Grand Rapids is 1/2 No Limit ($300 max buy in - most people buy in for around $200). There are also tournaments but most have 25% taken out of the pool for the charity and I think that's probably too much to make them very profitable for the players.

Definately an issue with cheating. I have only played aroudn a dozen times and our times I have noticed players shorting the pot. The dealer didn't noticed in any of these times and I'll bet money that atleast three of the times was intentional. Two players were caught colluding at the Grand Rapids event and were kicked out... but allowed the play again the very next day.

The dealers are questionable at best. Some are paid by All-in Entertainment and can deal resonably well but have no formal training. The rest are volunteers from from the charities and often are very slow, are unsure about how much to rake, and have no clue what to do if there is any sort of issue such as a card is turned face up while dealing.

Last night when I played a dealer was talking ton his cellphone while dealing. During a hand a bet was made on the turn and the other player went allin. While the original better was thinking about if he should call or not the dealer delt the river because he was unaware that the allin bet was made. Three times I have dealers who have been drinking alchohol while they were dealing.

Besides all these negitives I still intend to play there because I like the idea of being able to drive ten minutes to a live poker game... no reason to go out of your way to play though unless you are really itching for some live action.
