There's this billionaire poker player who challenged a syndicate of pros to a high stakes match. I think his name is Andy Beal (or something like that)

You should read the Professor, the Banker and the Suicide King. Author Michael Craig tells us the story of Andy Beal, an amateur who takes on the best players in the world. Craig estimates Beal is worth at least a billion, and refers repeatedly to Beal playing poker.

A little known fact: Bill Gates didn't actually make his fortunes through poker, but in "computers". So this wouldn't make him inelegible for this question.

So, off the top of my head, I can only think of one billionaire poker player....an upstart Texas Banker, Andy Beal.
