Default Multitable different games or same games?

I wonder if Psychologists have any ideas on whether it is better to MT just one sort of game or to mix say HE and Omaha to keep the brain fresh and to differentiate between tables.

I multitable Omaha H/L, Horse and NLHE but never limit holdem and no limit or Omaha Hi and Hi/Lo. With regards to your question it's probably better to play just one game for focus but being gamblers this probably doenst appeal to most poker players.

Ultimately, I think its best to multi table one type of game. It keeps you in that mindset and making consistent "correct" decisions, in my opinion. But everyone differs I guess. I definitely wouldnt multi table different games if you arent as familiar with some of the other types, that cant really produce an overall positive result. But if they are games you know well and you can mentally handle the differences efficiently I guess go for it, but Id still keep the tables to a minimal. If you are dead set on it, I would multi similar games at least.

I think this is a terrible idea. When multi tabling you want to be able to make decisions quickly whilst staying focused. Just adding unnecessary thought processes will be -EV.

Try it if you like but I think it will blow your mind as you switch tables and go from one thought process to another.

As long as you're good enough at each of the games you're playing, it won't make much difference. Just check out the high stakes FT tables and you'll normally see the same players at the highest tables in NLHE and PLO simultaneously.

Its not that bad as long as you can know what's going on.

If you have a stud-based (or horse) in your rotation, you'll lose a bit more equity if you can't track dead cards. Personally the only time I ever had any issues with multiple games was confusing variants that look similar (Omaha Hi and Hi-Low, stud games).
