UTG limp minreraise is most likely a monster. I check the flop, hoping to get to showdown as cheap as possible.

That's true, but it really depends a LOT on the player. Some players will only do it with a monster, others will do it with like 7-6 suited or drawing hands. Others will do it with small pairs. A-K is also a possibility. I've seen a lot of craziness on this site as many of you have noted haha, so it's tough to finger exactly what the minreraise means, but here it played out like he had a monster. I'll post results tomorrow.

Anyways, I smooth called the raise. My rationale was this: the pot was pretty big and I felt like his turn action would really define where he was at after I called his show of strength. In this situation, I'm either WA/WB. Villain either has the set or otherwise I have him crushed (wasn't too worried about J-10 here). In retrospect, however, I'm really not sure whether calling was a good play or not. My main reason for doing it was to really define where I was at without committing my whole stack, but this would seem to be a losing strategy in the long run, almost a calling station type of philosophy. Anyways, the turn comes a blank 3, and the villain pushes instantly. I mucked it pretty quickly and told him his set of queens were good. He agreed.
