Default Stress Relief

Live poker is such an amazing stress relief. I personally despise online poker. I find it very boring and antisocial. But, I love live poker. Think of the feeling after the long drive to ac or wherever your home casino is. You get there and you are amped to play. You can't walk fast enough to the poker room. You want to run but that would likely be out of line.
So you get to the room and get on the list. The anticipation is killing you so you go bet on the horses or run up to the tables games for a few hands just to calm yourself down. Then you finally get called. You have your stacks ready to attack the lovely fish at the tables. You order a beer and just take in the fact that you are finally there. You are away from work/school/kids whatever. You are at peace. That headache is gone. Your back muscles don't hurt. You are at peace. Thank you poker for being my psychologist. The only difference is that you pay me. You are great

Funny thing, I agree 100% with this post. Live poker for me is a nice escape from just about anything. I am one of those that never berates, always says nice hand, has a cocktail or 3, and just relaxes basically. I never sweat the beats, never get pissed off except in very rare occasion that one jerk starts F you F that F you..lets take this outside. I just say...sir, please STFU or I can have security do it for you.

Otherwise, I just have a good time when playing poker, and this includes up to 4/8 limt up to 10/30 or 15/30. 1/2 and 2/5 NL. Sometimes a good Omaha...err..wait, O8 is nothing but a nit fest in this town and I gave up playing it except online once in awhile. But yet, online can get very boring and antisocial too. I'd rather go to a casino with friends and we can all donk around in the poker room, go eat, come back and do it all over again.

Completely agree. Even though I can play so many more hands online at a lower rake, I'll still play live cuz it's very relaxing to me.
