they banned my account because i typed the word "torrent" in one of my posts

1- i did not advocate downloading torrents
2- did not post links
3- did not post WHAT i was using torrents for

all I said was on computer technical help "plz help me my internet crashes when i open utorrent" and they instaban me

We've had this discussion on various forums over and over. Torrents are useful for LOTS of stuff that aren't piracy. However, 2+2 is selling intellectual property for a living, so the admins have always said no mention of torrents at all, since it's so often (but not always) used for intellectual property theft. Whether we agree with the logic or not, it is pretty clearly stated in the rules.

Sorry about the 12-hour ban. On the other hand, I didn't delete your thread; I edited your OP so it'd be within the rules in case anybody had any ideas on your problem. Sorry you felt you got a bad deal.
