Default first WSOP event a little help please

if this shouldn't go in this forum feel free to move/block it.
I'm leaving today for vegas and plan on playing in the friday 2k event. Just need to clarify the general procedure. Like what time should I plan on coming to pay for, get seated/ ready for event. WIll i be OK just walking in friday to pay cash for my seat?

I'd enter the night before if possible. The first event you enter they verify your ID and get you to sign a waiver before issuing you with a plastic card. Once you have the card you can enter for any event just paying at the cage.

The plastic card that you need is a Harrah's Total Rewards card.

Some of the tournaments are overfilling and they take alternatives as people are knocked out. This would be the lower buy in nl holdem tournaments. I would get there around 10 am and check the place out
