Re: More Wynn Poker Classic info
I'll be at the Venetian for the Omaha tourney on Sunday then the Wynn Omaha tourney on Monday.
Plan to head up to Reno on Tuesday for the omaha tourney at the Peppermill and the Horse tourney on Wednesday. |

Re: More Wynn Poker Classic info
I have confirmation that the $10K event at the Wynn Classic will NOT have any TV coverage.
I would be very surprised if the $10K event will draw more than 100 players. |

Re: More Wynn Poker Classic info
I think the biggest problem The Wynn is facing getting better turn out is that most of the SoCal players that are rolled for this type of tourney are playing the WSOP Circuit Event in San Diego and LAPC. The ME is happening right now. Unless they score or have a huge roll, it would be hard to play both. Then they still face competition from the Venetian's event.
I love playing at the Wynn and seriously thought about this event but it is really bad timing for them. |

Re: More Wynn Poker Classic info
The Venetian offers more play with deeper starting stacks for lower buy-ins compared to the mid-level tourneys at the Wynn.
As far as the $10K buy-in event is concerned: a number of pros with sponsorships simply will NOT play untelevised tourneys anymore. |

Re: More Wynn Poker Classic info
Which do you think will have a bigger prize pool? (If you had to guess.)
A 1K event at the Wynn, or a $330 event at the Venetian. Do you think the Venetian will draw 3X the number of entrants? |

[/ QUOTE ] I would be surprised to see the Venetian draw more than 150 players for any of its $330 buy-in deep-stack events. Furthermore, I would set the over/under at 100 players for each of the $550 events at the Venetian. The lack of TV, plus the relative dearth of live action at the Venetian (players tend to be creature of habit, and many players still prefer the Bellagio), means that the Venetian will probably have relatively small fields of mostly locals. Again, TV (with associated sponsorship money from online poker "schools" for final table players) was the driving force for many events during the boom. |
