Default Steps on Stars

PSTars just added 6 STT SnG steps to the PCA starting BI at 500 FPP or 7.50.

Almost exactly like PP's old step system.

You can't cash out for W$. You receive tickets only. So dry? Possibly. But way wetter than if I could cash out at the 215 level.

Bryan said they are likely going to convert them to something else.

Bryan said they wouldn't likely dissolve them and screw us over, pretty much.

In other words, they might screw us over?

Be warned that any steps type tournament where rake is taken at every step generates a tremendous amount of rake, so while step 1 is advertised as $7 + 0.5 it is really a $4.55 + 2.95 tournament.

For every final level 6 game there has to be 1071 level 1 games with 9639 players, 1071 have tickets from level 6, 310.5 have tickets from level 2 and 8257.5 buy in directly.
8,257 players pay $7.50 or $61,927 that is distributed as 3 12k packages and $1,606 to the 4th place finishers in step 1, while Stars keep the remaining 24k as rake.
Compare this to a 33r with 133 players that take 1 rebuy and 1 addon to generate a prizepool of 12k and $400 rake.

Stars doesn’t have to collect rake on every level, Primas Rounders system is a good example that takes 10% rake irrespective if you enter on the first level or the last.

You are looking at this wrong. There is no difference between entering a step tournament and taking the winnings to the next step tournament and doing the same with regular tournaments.

Play 20 $50+5 tournaments, costs $1100, you win $1200. You've paid $100 in rake on the original $1100. Now reinvest in 10 $110+10s, win $1600. You pay another $100 in rake, $200 total. Then play 5 $300+20s, win $1650. Another $100 in rake, $300 total. Now reinvest the $1650 in 30 $50+5s, pay another $150 in rake, Etc.

By the method you're using to evaluate the Steps rake, you've paid $450 in rake on the original $1100, and will continue paying more as long as you reinvest your winnings.

There's no difference, other than that you are forced to play the next tournament when you play steps, but you know that going in.

It makes sense that someone playing a $215 tournament, a $700 tournament, and a $2100 tournament will pay more rake than someone who plays a $2100 only.
