Re: TPTK on drawy board
This looks pretty good.
I would've bet the flop and turn a smidgen harder, but that can be a style thing too. My main reason for this is that our usual opponents are calling too often and we're, hopefully, betting for value. If our bet sizes are bigger, all thing being the same, our bb/100 should go up. Of course, if we bet smaller and don't scare 'em out, they're making a big mistake too. Eh, just thinking to myself... C/c river is fine on a board that picked up more draws on turn as well. You pick off draws that bluff, avoid the raise that could potentially move you off best hand (unlikely though -- that you'd be best, I mean), and get bets from hands that wouldn't have called. Did villain have 55? Or A2hh or the like? I usually assume someone's beat when they post. Call's fine, you're good often enough here. Or are you thinking you should have vbet it? Against a passive station, yes, vbet something like half pot or so if you think they've got KQ, QJ or something and their that type. |

Re: TPTK on drawy board
Ok thanks for the reassurance. vilian did have 55, but he played so badly and later on in the night i made it back from him. I do think I'm winning this more than 30% of the time, which is what i need to be breakeven.

Re: TPTK on drawy board
The river call seems fine. I really can't put him on a flush. A straight is of course likely, as he migh have called your flop bet with 55, and then picked up a draw on the turn. But he's also giving you good pot odds, and I would call here. Nice check on river btw.

Re: TPTK on drawy board
River check is likely to induce a bluff from missed spade draws. If you check, you have to call a reasonable bet.
Make your bets a little closer to pot size on such drawy boards. |
