He may be bluffing, but probably not enough of the time. He could have a set or a naked flush draw that got there. Now if it was the 8 of hearts on the river, I'd probably look him up.

honestly I'd probably look him up. Would also call with JJ+ and likely AT. Could be bad. I just expect him to play a draw differently on flop/turn on a board that looks like that.
