Default ***Official SEC basketball thread***

Ok, we're no power house conference but it is the home of the #25 back-to-back champs, the #7 Vols & some other teams with young talent, so we get a thread.

Someone hit me up on like Vandy, Bama, Auburn. Intriguing teams I don't know much about yet.

Razorbacks commit a school-tying record 32 TOs against Providence and drop out of the top 25 *sigh*.

I'm happy with Pelphrey. I'm willing to give him some games to whip these kids into shape and stop this trend from last year.

"Talented but underperforming" same as it ever was.

Really thought we (Auburn) would have a decent chance of making the tournament this year but without our two leading scorers from last year (Josh Dollard out for the year, Quan Prowell out for at least six games) I don't think it's gonna happen.. tough break for Lebo as I think he's done a decent job so far given the circumstances when he first got here.

Bama = yikes without Steele and Davidson. Gee and Hendrix are nice, but there's only so much you can do with Gottfried as your head coach.

Vandy- Byars is gone, and they were super lucky last year.

Auburn- huh?

Don't know too much about UT but they should easily win the East. 4 of 5 starters plus Tyler Smith coming in. The 2 freshman were expected to do nothing and have actually looked decent. This will be the most exciting team to watch in the SEC. They have all the tools to go deep in the tourney. If everyone is healthy they will play 11-12 deep and it will be fun.

Shan Foster (along with two other senior starters) is back, and Andrew Ogilvy is looking like the SEC freshman of the year, though not really tested yet. Vandy's biggest issue is learning how to utilize a strong post player after years of guard-oriented offenses.

I think it's pretty easy to argue that Vandy was not in the Elite 8 despite outplaying Georgetown due to a little bad luck.

Meh, UF lost to a bad FSU team, but at least it will be motivational for the young guys Shows we will be man handled by the more physical team but our shooting should carry us to 2nd in the SEC East. We have a chance to beat UT.

SEC not so good in OOC so far, but to be expected.
