Trip Report: The Weekly Game (super awesome pics inside!!!)

Well wow wow wow, these games turned out way better than I'd ever imagined they would. Sunday night's was great, there were 5 of us, and we played some deepstacked 2NL from around 10PM to 1AM. Tons of fun.

On monday night, things got crazy. We started off with 4: Myself (mrjstring), GinaSD (Starrduster), JanelleBB7 (same name) and Jmitchell. Hawked some 2NL action for a while, and were joined by Jsmith and a fine gentleman by the name of runout_mick (thanks for the strat talk!). One other 2+2er sat, but the screen name escapes me at the moment. Post here if it was you. From what I remember, we played for around 3 solid hours before people started dispersing. Good times.

As time passed by, Gina suggested we play a $4 180 man SnG for a little fun and games (in the midst of the world's largest forest fire, no less). 4 of us, Gina, Janelle, Jmitchell and myself decided to go for it. Couldn't hurt, right? Go team Beginners Forum.

Now let me explain a bit about Gina. She's used to playing live poker- she's kind of crazy sometimes. I suggested a prop bet- Gina would pay me a buck if she busted out of the tourney first (this is after jmitch went out), and i'd pay her a buck if she busted 2nd or 3rd. Janelle took the bet too. As you can see we're high-stakes ballaz, obviously. Of course during all of this, myself, Gina and Janelle were still playing our cashgame- and cleaning it up:



Balla? I think so.

The SnG started off tame enough, Jmitch had his AK busted early and dropped the ball (loldonkaments). Janelle maintained a healthy stack until around an hour in, when the poker gods decided to rain on her and bust her out. What happened next none of us would have ever predicted, and we feel it was so cool that it can only be represented graphically. As such, here you are:

And so it ends. Gina cashed 3rd (wowowowow) and I ended up 8th, which was a far cry from what any of us anticipated when we decided to prop bet it up and play a donkament.

The moral of the story here is quite simply this:

Come out next sunday and monday for the weekly game, and you too could have this much awesome 2+2 style fun.

Not only did we have a hell of a time, we discovered that all 2+2ers have a major advantage against the non-2+2 crowd in games. I don't think any players tonight lost any cash, but we made sure to bust any rogues that sat down in our games. Keep reading, posting, and learning all, cause obviously it does us all very well.

I'm sure all involved would agree that this was one of the funnest (is that a word?) nights of poker we've had in a while. Everyone needs a break from the grind, why not hack around with some fellow 2+2ers?

I have a statistics class at 9AM, and despite the fact it's going to be hell (it's 5:27AM, haven't slept), it was all well worth it. This was such a great opportunity to have some fun, learn a bunch and meet some people. Passing it up would have been criminal.

Yah- I played through the evac time. But the fire is still miles off. Though it's still not contained. I'll probably head out later today though, as air quality (or lack thereof) is really getting to me n the dog.

Jason -- LOVE [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] it! That described the night too the TEE! Was so much fun! I never play Holdem in my reg games, and I had the BEST time with you guys!

I agree with Selling the Drama about having an earlier start time. That game went on almost all night long.... was --- insane --- longest I ever played!

We need some more 2+2ers so that next time will be a TRUE challenge. Also absolutely need to do the tourney that was insanely fun even though I went BUSTO.
