Default Is it fair to convert bb/hr to bb/100?

Forgive me if this is not the right forum...it seemed the most-correct.

Someone was asking me about my live limit holdem winrate. Over the last couple of years it's 1.44 BB/hr. Is it fair to convert it to BB/100 by doing a simple multiplication (figuring 100 divided by 28 to 32 hands per hour)? Or is there something I'm missing?

You make 1.44bb/hr or 1.44bb/32 and if we multiply the top and bottom by 3 we get 4.32/96 hands . To be exact , 1.44/32*100 = 4.5bb/100 hands .

How soft are your games ?

I figured that was the answer...but something nagged at me wondering if it was not a fair conversion, because 4.5-5.1 BB/100 is so big for limit poker.

Typically the 4/8 game (before we got 1/2NL a month ago) were very loose and passive in 5 spots with a couple of gambooling loose-aggros, a couple of others and me. It was very exploitable through SSHE and "Holdem on the Come" principles.

***To be fair, this is only 400 hours of play (so 11-12K hands).

Fairness really isn't the issue here. You can convert it to bb/100, but that isn't to say that you would make 4.5bb/100 online at the same limit. If I had to estimate, I would say that live games are roughly as hard as 1/4th of the stake online.

Absolutely true. An important point to make to people who aren't familiar with both live and online play.

I was only wondering about the conversion of the statistic because we were discussing BB/100 in another thread and my stats are kept in BB/hr.

This is pretty accurate. I have a live win rate at 10/20 (limit) at just over 4.5.
