ordering contact lenses online w/no prescription

1800contacts refused to send me contacts without a prescription. After some searching, I found http://www.contactsland.com/ and had no problems.

Yeah I really don't understand why eye glasses and contacts require a prescription. It's not like you can abuse them like with medications.

Because some idiots will go years between exams and be using prescriptions that are no longer suited for them, further damaging their eyesight.

I'm almost positive that wearing the wrong contacts or glasses won't damage your vision. OTOH, it could cause headaches, or cause you to have a car accident, and also, when they do an eye exam they also screen for glaucoma and other conditions that could cause you to lose your sight if untreated, so going for years and years without a retest isn't the smartest thing in the world.
