Default Microbob scammed posts

I moved those posts to the mod forum for discussion. I would prefer those types of posts not remain in the public forums. We don't need copycats and contests to see who can scam the most money. I also suspended the user for 48 hours but this may be adjusted after the mod forum discussion. I would personally prefer these types of posters be banned from 2+2.

I sent Microbob a pm and also an email to the address registered with 2+2 requesting he check his poker accounts. He responded that his accounts were not hacked. I just wanted to provide an FYI for those wondering what happened to those posts and concerned about Microbob's accounts.

Thank you,

Jim Kuhn

There have been several people hacked/scammed in the past couple of years from these forums. I think the fact the poster was on here bragging about it diminishes the chance it was legitimate.

Thank you,

yes, all is well.

was multi-tabling on stars so didn't see the thread. I got Jim's e-mail about the thread WHILE playing on Stars with everything fine which I thought was kind of funny.

Only a very select few know my Stars handle anyway.

Since I didn't see the thread I don't know the name of the poster who did this.
I would think this almost definitely has to be a perma-ban though.

Some guy brags about hacking my acct abnd stealing my money and it's only a 2-day suspension?

If he's allowed to stay on 2+2 I would like to know who he is. I think that's fair.
I also believe I deserve to know what the final decision is regarding his ban/suspension.

Was it a poster with more than 100 posts who I would actually recognize?

yes, I've seen him.
He didn't seem like a bad guy to me although I think he might have ticked a couple people off.
Obviously now he's kind of ticked me off a tad.
I don't think I had done anything to him.

Seriously. 2 days for bragging about hacking someone's account?!?! What if he had actually stolen the money -- banned for 5 days, perhaps?

I also think 2+2 should disclose this guy's identity (if they know it), if not to everyone, at least to Microbob.

It's an unusual one.

The guy invented a dumb story for some obscure reason. Maybe he thought it was funny. Maybe he was drunk. Maybe he thought we'd all think twice about our own passwords. Who knows? Maybe he'll tell us later.

I'm sure that quite a few others, mentioning no names, have invented a few stories in the past. This one was about scamming someone, but it wasn't true; it couldn't hold up as being true; it didn't hurt anyone. I don't think it broke too many formal rules.

He's been warned not to do anything similar in the future, by way of a two-days ban.

I can't see a permanent ban being justified. Perhaps there are some arguments for a longer ban, but a three-days or a five-days ban would be absolute tops for such a first offence in my book, and in reality there isn't a whole lot of difference - if a two-days ban doesn't do its "job", I doubt if a five-days ban would, either.

Individual mods generally decide on the punishment to fit the crime, and I'm happy to back Jim's call on this one.
